May Birthstones- Emerald & Chrysoprase

Updated: May 29, 2022

Birthstones are gemstones that harmonize with calendar months or zodiac signs to help balance, enhance and support specific energies.

Emeralds

Emeralds are the purest gemstones for heart activation. Colors: Green Usually found in: Africa, Russia, Colombia, Brazil Chakra represented: Heart Element: Water Emeralds are beautiful and powerful stones that have wonderful effects on the emotional and physical body. Emerald opens the heart, alleviates heaviness in emotions and infuses the aura with the power of the Green Ray. Emeralds bring hope, joy, gentleness and abundance, loving self and others by extension. Of all gemstones, Emerald is the purest crystalline emanation of the Green Ray, color of our heart chakras; wellspring of love, compassion and our truest expression. An open heart allows the blessings of this life to be fully received; Emeralds are also associated with financial wealth and abundance when paired with an aligned mindset. In ancient Rome, Emerald was associated with fertility and the goddess Venus, who represents love, beauty, self-worth, and compassion. Ancient alchemy speaks of sacred "Emerald Tablet" upon which were inscribed the "recipe" for transformation and enlightenment.

Chrysoprase

Colors: Green Usually found in: Australia, Brazil, Russia, Madagascar Chakras represented: Heart, Solar Plexus Element: Water Chrysoprase is a green Chalcedony and a member of the Quartz family. Of all the Chalcedony varieties, green is the most valuable and rare; the color comes from nickel in the Earth, and the crystals grow in in a hexagonal shape. Like Emerald, Chrysoprase is also a gem of the Green Ray, and is a healing heart stone. Wearing or meditating with these stones can facilitate a strong connection with the spirit of the Earth Mother, as well as devas, faeries, and other elemental energies.

The energy of Chrysoprase can be compared to fresh leaves on a tree in the Spring; carrying the promise of hope, fresh starts, and abundance. This stone can bring hope to very dark circumstances, and is a wonderful tool for ruminating on past situations, and viewing them with a lens of more compassion and understanding.

An Chrysoprase affirmation: I see myself and others through the lens of love and compassion, and I grow in ways that serve the good of all.

Is it the deep Emerald hue that does it for you, or are you more of a "Spring" green Chrysoprase stone lover? xo,
